What is NA?
Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a problem. The primary purpose of Narcotics Anonymous is to carry the message of recovery to addicts and users who are still having problems with drugs, including alcohol. We encourage those who need help to attend our meetings, where they will meet others who have had similar difficulties and who can show them an example of healthier living.
The NA Program of Recovery
The Twelve Steps of Narcotics Anonymous are the basis of our recovery, adapted from the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Although we follow a program adapted from A.A., we are not affiliated with the A.A. Fellowship. In NA we simply broaden their perspective, believing that our problem is not a specific substance, but the disease of addiction. We are forever grateful to the A.A. Fellowship for showing us a new way of life.
